People often say to me "Penny I don't know how you do it, I don't know how you cope with what life has thrown at you and still, you smile and remain so positive"It is not easy, recently I found myself in a dark place where burnout was real for me and at times I did not think I could go on. Luckily I had immense amounts of support from my wonderful colleagues which helped me get back on track, but it was also people like Balinda Z. aka Zarry that kept me going on not just this occasion but others too. No matter what I have dealt with in life, Zarry has had tenfold, every day she fights tooth and nail to feed 50+ children via Zee Foundation Africa in Uganda. She has donated all her wages to feeding children and now she needs our support. There are so many worthy causes out there and I know it is hard to give to them all but if you can help Zarry in any way that would be amazing, I have never known anyone personally who deserves it more. Stay strong, Zarry you got this 💪💪💪 thank you for inspiring me to keep going, if you can do it with all your hardship then I can too!💗💗💗

I used to feel that this level of conversation could impact a child's innocence negatively, the stark reality is that children are exposed to far more adult topics online than we would like or realise. The topic of suicide is an incredibly hard topic to think about let alone discuss via social media, but when I see articles like this I have to talk because I know first hand the excruciating pain it causes, so I need to help other families avoid this awful level of tragedy - https://lnkd.in/ejkWVQmf. 'He was popular atschool, a keen Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) player and an altar boy at his local church. But his normal life fell apart after a chance encounter with ‘Emily Magee’, a friend he’d made onFacebook. He sent Emily, who he believed to be a fellow teenager,intimate photos. But Ronan wasn’t messaging a teenage girl, he was in fact talking to 31-year-old Iulian Enache, the ringleader of a twisted sextortion gang based in Timisoara,Romania. Enache had groomed the schoolboy, asked for intimate photos, then demanded a ransom of £2,600 when he revealed his true identity as a criminal. Ronan pleaded ‘but I’m only 17, please, I’m begging you, don’t’ to which the blackmailer cruelly replied ‘That’s not my problem. Foolishness has a price. And you’ll pay.’Ronan, with his parents at his side, visited a local police station to report the blackmail plot. But nothing was done and, three days later, Enache shared Ronan’s nudes with the 17-year-old’s Facebook friends. Distraught, the teenager took his own life in the hours which followed. His body was found by his father in a field near the family home in County Tyrone,Northern Ireland.Please, please talk to your children about sextortion, they need to be aware before they fall victim. I lost my beautiful sister Lucie, who was also my best friend, to suicide in 2010. This ripped me apart but words can't describe what this did to my dear Dad.
